Bearcats Volleyball 2009
Quotes for August 13, 2009:
"I'm just a ball player with one ambition, and that is to give all I've got to help my ball club win. I've never played any other way." Joe DiMaggio, Hall of Fame baseball player

"Skill alone does not make the champion." John Devaney, sportswriter

1. Please choose one of the quotes above, go to your personal page and write (it can be brief or long--your choice) why you chose that one, what it means to you, how it could affect you, how it applies to the team, etc.

2. Below, please add in who is your favorite athlete and why. It can be somebody famous...or not famous. I'll start.

Tina--one of my favorite athletes I had the pleasure of playing with: Rachel Olsonawski. She was barely over 5' and she played middle (and she was good at it). Imagine the heart, dedication, effort, communication and teamwork it took for her to be strong in that position. Watching her practice was a daily reminder of what true champions are made of--a lot of sweat and a lot of heart!

Megan~ My favorite athlete is probably my cousin Chelsi Nelson. She always had to much passion and heart for everything that she did and tried her hardest every play. She worked her butt off to get things she wanted and achieved many extremely challenging goals because of it.

Taylor~ My favorite athlete would probably have to be Kellen Albrecht because he always put the team first no matter what, he always worked hard, and he always put forth effort all the time, despite his size. He also brought the best out in his teamates.

Cvisness--my current favorite athlete is Candace Parker. In college she played for Tennessee and she now plays for LA. She was an unbelievable athlete, extremely gifted, but also played with a lot of heart. In the NCAA tournament her senior year, she lead Tennessee to the title playing with a badly sprained shoulder. Already knowing she was going pro she could have opted out of playing, but she withstood the pain and was the difference in their game. What a thrill to see a 6'5" point guard who could "dunk" the ball in competition.

Lexi~ My favorite athlete would probably have to be Dana Blomquist she is short just like me and she was good at everything, never got mad at her team mates, and is one good hard working athlete.

Britta~ My favorite athlete is probably my brother Zach. He is very competetive and he works hard. He doesn't get mad at his team and he doesn't brag when he does well. I think that is how a true athlete should act. I want to be like him, my big brother =)
